Dave Martin will tell the tale of when looking North of Ramsey for black gold how white was found.

The search for coal off the Point of Ayre resulted in finding a huge underground pocket of purest salt rich brine and the establishment of a commercial salt works in Ramsey that lasted for over a half a century.

MEMBERS ONLY
We will be joining the newly formed Friends of the Chapel
who will have celebrated the 175th Anniversary of the chapel
the previous Sunday.

Refreshments afterwards, donations to chapel restoration

Directions from the Douglas/Ballasalla direction: travel west on the A7, past the Colby Glen Hotel,through Colby and past the Methodist Church and Hall on your left then cross over Cubbon’s Bridge.

After 1/4 mile at the little ‘Belle Abbey’ Mission Church on your right, turn right up the Ballakilpheric Road (B44) and continue almost a mile until you reach Ballakilpheric Chapel and Hall.

Look out for signs to parking.

on The Story of St. Peter's Onchan Parish Church.  

The event is open free of charge to anyone who wishes to attend

and light refreshments will be served at the back

of the church following the presentation

with donations toward the fabric of  St. Peters.
